A 15 minute snapshot of doctor/patient interaction within a secondary care setting. It is designed to assess the clinical skills, attitudes and behaviours essential to providing high quality care.
You can ask your clinical supervisor, consultants, staff grades, or registrars to complete this assessment for you. Ideally each mini CEX should be with a different observer and you should aim to cover a range of different problems with your mini CEX’s throughout the year. The observations should be recorded in your eportfolio by the assessor using a “ticket”.
