You’ve done it! Or nearly, at least. Having navigated the demands of a training programme, the prospect of being unleashed into the wild as a newly qualified GP can be daunting. But fear not! Newly Qualified GP Fellowship Programme

***14th February 2024 – update re. withdrawal of NHSE funding for NQGP programme***

NHS England has announced that the national Newly Qualified GP Fellowship Programme will close on the 31st March 2024. We know this news will come as a significant disappointment. All Fellows currently on the programme, or who join before the 31st March 2024 will receive their full 2 years of funding and support.

We would like to encourage anyone who is eligible to contact us ASAP.

You will be eligible to join the programme if you are a Newly Qualified GP and you have a permanent job in a practice in BNSSG starting on or before 31st March 2024.

Provided by NHS England / Improvement, Healthier Together, and BNSSG Training Hub, this two-year programme has been devised to help newly qualified GPs to gain confidence at work and develop enjoyable, fulfilling, and sustainable careers in general practice.

GP Career Toolkit

The BNSSG training hub site has a GP career toolkit developed by a NQGP Fellow. It has loads of useful information on topics such as leadership, mentoring and supervision, portfolio career opportunities, practice management and more.

This new guide, developed by Sarah Ballisat, contains a handy list of learning & development and wellbeing resources, essentials for practicing as a UK GP, doctor’s bag essentials, appraisal and revalidation, and more.
