We will be populating this with further information on QIP/QIA.

ACCESSING CONTINUITY STUDY:
Take part in the Accessing Continuity study which is great opportunity to contribute to a national research project, to get some hands on experience of research and become a published author. This is also a really easy way to start ticking some boxes in your portfolios!
Two Bristol GP Registrars, Dr Molly Dineen and Dr Hannah Mahoney, along with colleagues at the University of Bristol and the Primary care Academic CollaboraTive (PACT), are co-leading the Accessing Continuity study, which launched in June of this year. This is a research study looking at the associations between continuity of care and access systems in general practice.
The Accessing Continuity study is a national research study, which needs just one member of staff from each practice to participate – including GP Registrars!
All you need to do is register for the study (via https://www.gppact.org/accessing-continuity) and then get consent from the practice that you are working in to participate. Data collection takes around one hour of your time and involves measuring the continuity of care in your practice, using the tools provided, and completing a questionnaire about your practice’s access systems.
In return, you will receive a practice report to see how your continuity scores compare and you will become a collaborative author on any resulting publications. We suggest that you could also use your involvement in the study towards either your Quality Improvement Activity or Leadership Activity in your portfolio. For example, you could use the data that you collect in the study, to make an improvement to the way that your practice delivers continuity of care and use this as a Quality Improvement Activity. Or, you could present the continuity data to your practice and facilitate a discussion about the results, to use this as a Leadership Activity.
There is lots more information on the study website – https://www.gppact.org/accessing-continuity – where you can also sign up! Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like any additional information via accessing-continuity@bristol.ac.uk.
