The practice works as one practice over two sites and sits east of Reading town centre. The building at 226 Wokingham Road has been an NHS GP surgery for 50 years whilst the Woodley site moved to a purpose built modern premises in October 2010.
Our list size stands at 13,235 to date and is growing weekly with the infill housing development surrounding the location.
We are committed to the health welfare of our patients and aim to provide the highest possible standard within the resources available by the NHS. All practice staff attend T.I.P.S. (Time for Improving Patient Services) these are monthly protected education afternoons with speakers on topics both local and national enabling us to be at the forefront of change.
It is the intention of the practice to be fully involved in GP commissioning with commitment from a partner as Chair to the Wokingham consortium and project involvement from the practice manager to review, report, monitor, and suggest improvement and expansion of local Tier 2 services.
The practice has 7 partners and 3 salaried GP’s We offer 14 face to face morning appointments plus 4 telephone consultations; with 7 face to face and 3 telephone consultations in the afternoon. Appointments are pre-bookable or book on the day.
Patients also have the opportunity to use the internet booking system.
The practice promotes extended hours running surgeries from 6.30pm-7.30pm once a week, 7.00am-8.00am once a week and Saturday mornings from 7.00am to 8.00am once a month.
