Parkside Family Practice is a well established training practice east of Reading town centre. We work as one practice over two sites; the Wokingham Road site has been recently renovated and the Woodley site is a modern purpose built premises in Woodley town centre. We currently have 16,981 registered patients.

Parkside Family Practice has a long history of teaching and training, and we consider education to be one of our core values. We take pride in providing a welcoming, positive and supportive environment for all staff and learners.

We currently have 2 GP trainers, Dr Jagdip Nijran and Dr Manraj Jheeta.

Dr Nijran is one of our GP Partners, and has a keen interest in education. He was trained in Windsor VTS and became a GP trainer in 2023. He is clinical director of Wokingham North PCN and a Director of the local GP federation The Primary Care Alliance, as well as an LMC representative.

Dr Jheeta has been a salaried GP at Parkside Family Practice since 2014, having previously been a GP trainee at the practice. He has a special interest in medical education and has been a GP trainer since 2019, and since 2015 also works as a tutor at the University of Oxford Medical School.

In addition to GP trainees we host medical students, and student physician associates, nurses and paramedics.

The practice has a large multidisciplinary clinical team, comprising of; 3 partners, 7 salaried GPs, paramedic, advanced nurse practitioner, nurses, HCAs, physiotherapist, physician associate, mental health practitioner. These are supported by a large and experienced non-clinical team in reception and admin.  

We offer a combination of telephone and face to face appointments, as well as home visits. Core operating hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 6.30pm. We additionally offer extended hours clinics early mornings, evenings and on Saturdays.

Staff learning is supported by daily ‘huddles’ to discuss cases/ queries, an active Whatsapp staff group, monthly practice meetings and quarterly TIPs events.
