Clinical : Educational split
Trainees are expected to work 70% of their time as clinicians and 30% in educational activities. The latter include tutorials and day release sessions. Effectively they should work seven 4 hour clinical sessions each week.
EWTD
GP trainees are covered by the EWTD. The implications of this for GP training practices have been beautifully summarised by Bradford VTS. The most significant issue is OOH sessions and practices are asked to show understanding in allowing trainees to finish early and / or start late for these sessions which are very difficult for the trainees to book.
