Urgent & Unscheduled Care

An essential requirement

Urgent and Unscheduled Care or ‘Out of Hours’ is an essential tool in the GP’s armoury. Regular ‘social hours’ make up only a quarter of the week, and Primary Care must cover those times outside normal hours.

By the end of training your supervisor must sign off that you are competent in working outside normal hours. You demonstrate your competency by developing a UUSC ‘passport’ during your training (mainly in ST3) through spending time in the UUSC setting.
