In line with national recommendations, your first year (ST1) will usually be spent in undertaking a rotation of two six month placements in secondary care. We have posts in:
general medicine
stroke medicine
elderly care
cardiology
Paediatrics
A&E
Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Psychiatry
ENT
Your next two years (ST2 and ST3) are usually spent in one of our training practices. During the ST2 year you may have the opportunity to combine a GP and hospital placement in an Integrated training post (ITP) – during which you spend part of the week in practice and part in a hospital department. We try to ensure that you are placed and more than one practice during your time on scheme, this ensures you get experience of different types of practice and population.
For more information on the hospital jobs and GP placements available on this scheme please see below
