The half-day release course is an integral part of the training scheme and runs on Wednesdays.
As a rough guide:
Doctors in Training (DiTs) who are based in hospital jobs have sessions on the 1st or the 4th Wednesday afternoon of each month.
DiTs who are in primary care jobs have sessions every Wednesday morning. There are different groups depending on whether DiTs are pre or post exams.
Morning HDRC sessions run from 9.00-12.30 and afternoon sessions run from 14.00-17.00. The majority of sessions are face-to-face in the academy of Great Western Hospital, Swindon. Some sessions are remote/ self-directed.
The Swindon Education Trust (SET) provides a number of events that appear on the HDRC timetable.
Throughout the year, there are also events which trainees across all year groups are invited to attend.
