Dr Lynda Carter
Training Programme Director
I have been a TPD since 2017 and really enjoy getting to know and supporting trainees. I also have a central role for Health Education England linked to trainees that want to work overseas and also supporting differential attainment. I work as a GP in the centre of Scarborough in Central Healthcare where my interest are education, mental health and family planning. When I am not working I am a single mum of 2 primary school aged children and we all love spending time outdoors exploring our beautiful area, especially anything linked to the sea! I enjoy travel (when covid permits!), reading and music.
Dr Carolien Lino
Training Programme Director
I was appointed as TPD in August 2019. Having qualified at the Free University in Amsterdam, I came to the UK for GP training in Northallerton and fell in love with the North Yorkshire Moors and the beautiful coast of Yorkshire. I have worked as a full-time GP at Manor House Surgery in Bridlington for the last 19 years and still enjoy every day at work despite the many challenges. I obtained fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and Postgraduate Certificate Medical Education (PGCME) in 2012. I have contributed to undergraduate medical education within the GP setting for over 10 years and became a GP trainer in 2017. I enjoy time with my husband and two teenage children, travelling, hiking and a friendly competitive game of tennis.

Dr David Pearson EdD FRCGP Hon Professor, Hull York Medical School
I am a GP and GP Trainer based in Bridlington. I started as TPD for Scarborough in autumn 2021 but have had extensive previous experience in both undergraduate and postgraduate education. This includes previous TPD work in Airedale, working as Director of Primary Care Education in Bradford, and being Head of Primary Care Teaching at Leeds Medical School and later Deputy Dean at Hull York Medical School (leading the undergraduate and postgraduate taught medical educational programmes).
I thoroughly enjoy a return to postgraduate GP training and combine this with a reduced but ongoing clinical commitment. I am passionate about the importance of developing high quality GP trainees for an increasingly vital job, and about the need to ensure high quality training extends to the most under-doctored areas of Yorkshire (which includes the Yorkshire East Coast).
I live in the Yorkshire Wolds with my family and enjoy keeping bees, looking after my garden, vegetables and fruit trees. I keep busy campaigning for environmental and climate protection.
