Meet the Team

Ash Hennessy 
Course Manager

Ash joined the team in 2016 and has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the VTS and Oxford. Ash is our first point of contact on oxforddistrictGPtraining@gmail.com, or in person in Meeting Room 1, GPEC, JR. Ash works Monday – Wednesday in this role.

Training Programme Directors

The programme directors work for the training scheme on Tuesdays when they can generally be found in the Education Centre.

Dr Johanna Mack

Johanna trained in Birmingham and completed GP training in Oxford in 2014. She works as a GP and GP trainer at Berinsfield Health Centre, as a GP tutor for Oxford Medical School and as a GP appraiser. She has two young daughters.

Dr Anne Taylor

Anne trained in London and completed GP training in Oxford in 1999. She was a partner for 23 years and now has a portfolio career working as a GP in Abingdon and also as an Educator. She has the PGCME and has been a trainer since 2005. She is also a Faculty Trainer for the FSRH and a qualified coach. She is a Fellow of the RCGP and has an interest in sustainable General Practice. She has 2 grown up children and an exuberant golden retriever who will never grow up.

Dr Alison Fairley

Alison trained in Cambridge and completed her GP training in Oxford in 1995. Alison stepped down from her partnership of 28 years at St Batholomew’s Medical Centre in Oxford and now focuses on Medical Education, appraising and mentoring whilst working on a sessional basis for her old practice. Alison has 3 children grown- up (ish) children.

Sheena Sharma
Associate Dean

Sheena is from Oxford, trained in London and is a GP partner and trainer at Bartlemas Surgery in Oxford. Sheena Sharma is a GP in Cowley, Oxford (Bartlemas Surgery), is an Associate GP Dean (Senior Educator) in Thames Valley and has a specialist interest in Bereavement Care. She has 2 children in Secondary School.
