The majority of the ST1 and ST2 hospital posts are based in Epsom General Hospital. These posts include Emergency Medicine, Geriatric Medicine – Frailty or Stroke, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The programme also provides Psychiatry posts within Surrey and Borders Partnership, as well as ITP Palliative Care in Princess Alice Hospice and ITP Public Health.
Trainees are placed within a range of posts: hospital, general practice and ITP so they can complete their training programme requirements of 12 months in hospital and 24 months in community. The final ST3 year is entirely based at the General Practice of the trainees Educational Supervisor.
Integrated training posts (ITP) are based in General Practice but with half of the time spent in a hospital specialism or other area associated with health care.
