What you can expect
The course is based on adult learning principles; it is intended to draw on your own experiences, allowing plenty of time for reflection. It should evolve from your own needs at the appropriate time and, therefore, be relevant. You can expect us to:
- Endeavour to take your preferences into account when assigning rotations
- Do our best to facilitate your learning and development
- Provide you with help and support
- Listen to your feedback
GPVTS Teaching
The GPVTS teaching takes place every week (ST1s and ST2s afternoons) whilst they are in a hospital post and weekly during term time for all trainees currently placed in a General practice (morning sessions). This arrangement is unique to Macclesfield and has the advantage that more junior trainees are taught with those that are more senior. Feedback in the past has suggested that this is welcomed.
