We have a wide variety of placements
Becoming a General Practitioner involves three years of training. This is split between 12 months in an approved hospital and 12 months in an approved GP training practice. We have GP placements available in a range of lovely locations across Cheshire, Derbyshire and the High Peak. There is something to appeal to everyone with varied locations from small rural GP practices with only a couple of doctors to large practices with a large number of doctors based in large and bustling towns.
Our programmes are designed to try, where possible, to accommodate trainees location and speciality preferences along with factoring in their prior work experience. For more information view the GP National Recruitment Office website.
Hospital placements take place in Macclesfield District General Hospital which is a recognised hospital for medical education. The hospital education department is affiliated with the University of Manchester School of Medicine.
