First day? Here is a checklist to get you started.

  1. As an employee of the Royal Surrey Foundation Trust please ensure that you complete the HR onboarding process
  2. Ensure that your GMC details are up to date. We recommend that you pay by direct debit. Ensure that you link KSS as your responsible officer.
  3. Get in touch with your GP practice educational supervisor (and schedule some days at the practice if you are on a hospital post (one day for each 4 months)
  4. Register with the RCGP
  5. Activate your Fourteen Fish trainee ePortfolio (full guide here)
  6. Complete outstanding actions on the TiS Self-Service Portal (review programme membership details, sign conditions of joining, form R)
  7. Sign up for medical indeminity cover (trainees receive free cover through MPS here)
  8. Complete the Royal Surrey statutory and mandatory training modules on My Learning (your compliance must be >90% for study leave approval)
  9. If you are on an ITP placement – there is information about ITP teaching on our website here
  10. Familiarise yourself with the concept and skill of writing reflective log entries: RCGP and KSS guide
  11. Get familiar with the Fourteen Fish ePortfolio by accessing the RCGP walkthrough
  12. Also familiarise yourself with the jargon of workplace based assessments (WPBA)
