Scholarships
There are several internal scholarships that allow GP trainees to develop additional skills in a number of areas including Leadership, Education, Public Health, and Research. These posts are applied for within the ST2 year and extend the ST3 year for one or 3 months. As a scholar you will have a mentor to guide and upport you for any project you undertake.
Global Health Fellowships
There are a number of 12 month Global Health Fellowships available through Africa Health Placements between ST2 and ST3 year. Applications are made alongside the application for the GP Specialty Training Programme. Find more information here.
Academic GP Training
Applicants for GP specialty training who would like to pursue an academic career can apply for a 4 year Academic Clinical Fellowship. Years 3 and 4 of this scheme will provide the Academic GP Registrar with 2 years of academic general practice with time divided equally between academic work in the Centre for Academic Primary Care, University of Bristol and training as a GP registrar. Applications are made at the time of applying for the GP Specialty Training Programme.
