GP Educator Courses

An important part of ongoing development of being a GP educator and dealing with challenges is continued learning.

HEENCEL provide a range of courses to support GP educators.

All e-learning modules have been transferred to the e learning for health platform and should be accessed via the E-learning for health educator hub

Managing learners in need of support

A multi-professional module on managing learners experiencing difficulty can be found on our Educator Hub.  The Supporting Learners module is open-access, free to use and can be found in Domain 5 of the Educator Hub; Supporting and Monitoring Educational Progress. The Performance in Practice DVD was launched in 2010 and is a learning resource targeted at educational and clinical supervisors to provide them with simple principles and guidance on how to manage a trainee in difficulty.  The content of this short interactive, video-based programme includes:
• recognising the trainee in difficulty
• common presentations
• diagnosis
• immediate management.

This resource is available to download via Synapse, the communications network for postgraduate medical education in London. Copies of the DVD are made available to all London Trusts. Please contact: facultydevelopment.lase@hee.nhs.uk
