Lead Employer Team for GP Speciality Training
NHS England, working across the North West, was the first in the UK to have a single lead employer for all its GP Speciality Resident Doctors (RDs). The organisation providing this service is St Helens & Knowsley Trust. They have a dedicated HR team that handles all aspects of employment for GP Speciality RDs.
Their responsibilities include completing all pre‑employment checks, such as verifying your right to work, carrying out a DBS disclosure, and organising Occupational Health assessments, among others. They are always available to provide advice on contractual matters, including pay and all types of leave, such as annual, bank holiday, special, maternity, and paternity leave. They also handle disciplinary matters and grievances, to name just a few. If you ever require Occupational Health support, your lead employer can arrange this for you as well.
