Who are we?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Allan Practice is a dynamic and friendly primary health care team. We absolutely love what we do and enjoy serving our population of 8800 patients. We consist of 5 doctors (2 of whom are trainers), each working with their personal secretaries, 3 practice nurses and a fantastic administration team. We work closely with the community midwife, health visitors, district nurses and palliative care nurses who are often in and out of the practice discussing the care of our patients.<\/p>\n\n\n

 <\/strong>We have a diverse mix of patients, with a high elderly population and thus a high number of patients with chronic disease, dementia and cancer. We look after several nursing and care homes and a residential home for patients with learning difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where are we?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are situated within the Calcot Medical Centre (which we share with The Hall Practice which is also a training practice in the Oxford Deanery (Buckinghamshire VTS)), which is a purpose-built health centre. The clinical rooms and nurses\u2019 treatment rooms are on the ground floor, and the administration staff are on the first floor. Chalfont St Peter is a picturesque village, in the beautiful, leafy Chilterns. Yet we are within 20 minutes of London and 6 minutes away from Gerrards Cross Railway Station which on the Chiltern Line to London Marylebone Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the road is the Chalfont and Gerrards Cross Hospital which is the location for the local musculoskeletal service, the district nurses and health visitors, various hospital satellite clinics and the CCG run gynaecology service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are 15 minutes away from Wexham Park Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are we about?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want to provide a personal, caring and responsive service for our patients with an enviable continuity of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are keen to learn, from each other and from our patients. We also collaborate with the other 2 training practices in the area and try to arrange regular joint tutorials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/strong>How do we do this?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We see looking after our patients as a team effort and we would like to show you how we do this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each GP has their personal list of patients and their personal secretary who knows their patients as well as their GP!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are a paper light practice, and use the EMIS web system. All our documents are scanned in and most of our prescriptions are generated electronically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We use the GPTeamnet practice Intranet to aid in the whole practice\u2019s continuing professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
