Claremont Surgery is a long established training practice in Maidenhead, Berkshire and currently two of the six partners are GP trainers. We often have more than one learner in post simultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n

We work from very spacious premises, in a Grade 2 listed Georgian building. We have a paramedic, clinical pharmacist, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, MSK specialist, midwife and a dietician working on the premises, as well as the usual complement of administrative staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are a highly computerised practice using EMISweb and DocMan as our key clinical records platform. With a significant volume of data flow being managed electronically we are now almost completely paperless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have a history of being at the leading edge of developments in general practice. Recent developments have seen the introduction of Workflow Management to better direct the flow of incoming correspondence, e-Consult allowing patients access to clinical support via the internet and Group Consultations to encourage self-support amongst patients with similar long-term conditions. Several members of the practice have active roles in the CCG, Primary Care Network and LMC. The Practice\u2019s training ethos now extends to training of Medical Students, Physician Associates and Adult Nurses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite all this, we are a friendly and welcoming practice, who value the stimulus of having GP trainees working with us and we have a variety of social events during the year in which all trainees are welcome to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maidenhead is a pleasant riverside town on the Thames, with easy access to both the M40 and the M4, Heathrow Airport and central London. The surrounding countryside is easily accessible for walking and cycling. The surgery itself is situated in the middle of the town, between a leisure centre, public tennis courts and a park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GP registrar works in the practice Monday to Friday, but has a whole day release on Tuesday. The out of hours arrangements are in line with national recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
