We are a busy 2-site practice with nearly 14,000 patients, and a full practice team comprising of 4 partners, 5 salaried doctors, and two practice nurses.
One site is based in central Slough and is arguably the first surgery to be established in Slough. The second site is in Cippenham, approximately 4 miles away. Each site has a different demographic distribution but in combination they provide exposure to a population of wide variation and prospective trainees will undoubtedly see patients of widely differing age groups, social economic and ethnic backgrounds as well as acute and chronic diseases. We are a growing practice, actively involved with the CCG. We have had a variety of F2 and ST trainees at our practice for a number of years, with a lot of positive feedback. All the clinical team is keen to be involved in trainees teaching and the team has two trained trainers within it. Weekly tutorials will be provided by the clinical supervisor and where appropriate other members of the team. We really feel this is a supportive atmosphere to train, and look forward to helping our trainees achieve their full potential throughout the ST process.
