We are committed to providing our trainees with a really enjoyable year, during which they will become fully involved in all aspects of our GeneralPractice and supported as they progress through their GP training.

As a large practice of 27,500 patients, we have the advantage of offering a wide range of experience and have GPs specialising in ophthalmology, dermatology, family planning, paediatrics, obesity, diabetes, asthma, primary care research and COPD. We also have a GPs involved in ICB and LMC work.
We consult from a purpose built surgery in the middle of Marlow, where our learners are based. We have branch surgeries in Lane End, Hambleden and Hurley, offering the trainee an opportunity to experience a variety of primary care settings during the course of their time with us.
We are fully computerised and paperless. Our clinical system is SYSTEM ONE and we use DOCMAN to facilitate easy access to protocols, updates and guidelines as well as for educational conversations in house. We also have a shared drive with helpful training support documents and records of our educational meetings and presentations.
As a practice we work closely with everyone in our primary healthcare team. We have an excellent nursing team, offering all the usual services, as well as diabetic, asthma, COPD and travel clinics. We also have minor illness nurses.
We have weekly educational meetings (including significant events and audit) and monthly practice meetings, all of which the trainee is invited to attend. There is also the opportunity for lots of informal teaching with so many doctors around.
Trainees are fully supported in every surgery. There is an initial induction to meet all members of staff and sit in with colleagues in surgeries. A half day per week is fully protected for in-house teaching for each trainee and the curriculum is very much tailored to the needs of the individual.
The whole practice enjoys and contributes to training and we have a great team of five trainers in house with lots of expertise and enthusiasm to support you with your training.
VTS scheme offering trainees the opportunity to work alongside trainees from another scheme.
Trainees have the opportunity to work at both sites but will do most of their work at the site where their trainer is based.
We are proud of the clinical care we offer our patients, and value the opportunity to teach this to others.
