It is important that you are\u00a0familiar with this guidance if you are considering taking on additional shifts outside of your training post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All additional work that requires a licence to practice must be declared to the Responsible Officer (RO) on Form R<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The employer, placement provider and RO must be made aware of all additional work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individuals must not work beyond their capability as described in Good Medical Practice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional work must not be undertaken during periods of absence for study or sickness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional work will not impact on achieving educational goals. Trainees in periods of extended training (unsatisfactory ARCP) should not normally undertake any additional work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GP trainees can only work in an approved practice setting subject to the regulations of the performers list. If working in other settings, such as hospital practice, this must be within current capabilities which will usually be a role that the doctor has undertaken in the previous 2 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repetitive additional work should lead to a review of LTFT training schedule or eligibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LTFT for health reasons is unlikely to support additional working.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gp-training.hee.nhs.uk\/reading\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2019\/05\/Guidance_on_Undertaking_Additional_Work_.pdf\">Guidance on Undertaking Additional Work<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important that you think carefully about the impact of additional work on your training post and your ability to complete your educational commitments.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"nhsuk-card__description\">The recently published CoPMED \u2018Guidance for Trainees and Trainers on Undertaking Additional Work Whilst in a Postgraduate Medical Education Training [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":0,"parent":4194,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"rating_form_position":"","rating_results_position":"","mr_structured_data_type":"","footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"class_list":["post-4329","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Thinking of Undertaking Additional Work?
