Your Clinical supervisor is an clinician who has responsibility for supporting you through one of your ST1 or ST2 posts.  They will usually be either a hospital consultant or a GP trainer.  The ePortfolio has a section for the clinical supervisor to write a short structured report on the GPStR at the end of each ST1 or 2 post. This covers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the knowledge base relevant to the post<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>practical skills relevant to the post and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the professional competences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This report should detail any particular strengths that you have as well as any particular developmental needs. It\u2019s purpose is to document progress and to allow planning for future learning rather than being a pass-fail exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your educational supervisor will use this report as one of the main sources of evidence in writing their report <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/mrcgp-exams\/wpba\/assessments\/plans-reviews#esr\">(ESR)<\/a> while you are not working in their practice so it is important that this is completed at least a week in advance of your meeting with your educational supervisor.
