Satisfactory completion of the scheme is an essential requirement for entry to the General Medical Council&#8217;s GP Register and for membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners. The MRCGP is an integrated assessment programme that includes three components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">The MRCGP is a three stage exam, <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">Applied Knowledge Test (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/mrcgp-exams\/applied-knowledge-test\">AKT<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">),comprising elements that test your knowledge<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">The Simulated Consultation Assessment (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/mrcgp-exams\/simulated-consultation-assessment\">SCA)<\/a> that allow you to demonstrate your ability in controlled practical examination conditions<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And finally Work Place Based Assessment (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/mrcgp-exams\/wpba\">WPBA<\/a>) a continuous portfolio of real life learning and experience <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each of these is independent and tests different skills but together they cover the curriculum for specialty training for general practice.
