Should this happen, you may wish to consider a change to LTFT training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The intention of LTFT programmes is to keep doctors within the NHS who might otherwise leave due to an inability to work on a full time basis. LTFT is available to all training grades in GP training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LTFT training is subject to eligibility, the identification of a suitable placement and availability of resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key aims of LTFT training are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To retain doctors within the NHS workforce who are unable to train on a full time basis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To promote career development and work\/life balance for doctors training within the NHS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To ensure continued training in programmes on a time-equivalent (pro rata) basis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To maintain a balance in LTFT arrangements with regards to educational needs and those of the service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please refer to the Wessex Deanery webage for up to date information on the process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-working-across-wessex wp-block-embed-working-across-wessex\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"sYIRr47J0F\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wessex.hee.nhs.uk\/trainee-information\/trainee-journey\/less-than-full-time-training\/\">Less Than Full Time Training<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Less Than Full Time Training&#8221; &#8212; Working across Wessex\" src=\"https:\/\/wessex.hee.nhs.uk\/trainee-information\/trainee-journey\/less-than-full-time-training\/embed\/#?secret=Ixt1XrNGr8#?secret=sYIRr47J0F\" data-secret=\"sYIRr47J0F\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<a class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-nhsbutton alignright nhsuk-button\"><\/a>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-panel1 nhsuk-panel is-style-panel-with-label nhsuk-card\"><h3><\/h3><div class=\"paneltext\">\n<p>There are two application windows per year. Trainees who wish to be considered for Less Than Full Time Training MUST meet with their Associate Dean in order to discuss their eligibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trainees are encouraged to apply as far as possible in advance of wishing to undertake Less Than Full Time Training, but no later than 16 weeks before the anticipated start date of your LTFT training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After&nbsp;the LTFT application has been approved a letter confirming the approval will be sent to the trainee. This will also act as&nbsp;the trainees certificate of eligibility throughout their training at the approved percentage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-nhsbutton alignright nhsuk-button\"><\/a>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-panel1 nhsuk-panel is-style-panel-with-label nhsuk-card\"><h3><\/h3><div class=\"paneltext\">\n<p>Trainees should&nbsp;refer to the less than full time guidance document&nbsp;if they are considering returning to full time training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-nhsbutton alignright nhsuk-button\"><\/a>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":0,"parent":2020,"menu_order":50,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"class_list":["post-2043","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
