Welcome to all new trainees. <\/h3>

A huge welcome to all new trainees starting on the Pennine North West GP Training Scheme. We aim for your time with us to be enjoyable and sucessful. Our educator team has a wealth of experience to help guide you through MRCGP and it’s many requirements.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

First steps.<\/h3>
\n

Starting a new job can be stressful. Below are some first steps you’ll need to take when starting your GP training:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Register with the RCGP as an Associate in Training (AiT) here<\/a>.
    This is a requirement for GP training and will enable you access to the RCGP ePortfolio. Please note membership fees are applicable at time of registration and each year (1st April). More info on this can be found     here<\/a>.<\/li>
  2. Keep an eye on your emails.
    You will receive multiple emails from multiple stakeholders starting from once you’ve accepted your training offer right until you start your first day in post. The vast majority of these will be important! The Deanery, Lead Employer Organisation, Host Trust, us(!) to name a few.<\/li>
  3. Ensure you complete your pre-employment checks from the Lead Employer (St Helens & Knowsley) in a timely manner. Any delay to these could effect your start date and your overall training length.<\/li>
  4. If you are moving to the area make sure you are registered with a local GP as soon as possible.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    ePortfolio.<\/h3>

    The eportfolio may look a little daunting at first. But there is plenty of help on using it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Things you need to know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. You will need to register with the RCGP as an AiT to gain access to the Fourteenfish eportfolio.<\/li>
    2. Once registered you need to link yourself with the correct Deanery and Training Programme. These are the North Western Deanery and the Pennine GPST Programme. <\/li>
    3. Please do not<\/strong> register with the Northern Deanery or the St Helens & Knowsley Programme. The Northern Deanery is a separate Deanery and St Helens & Knowsley are your employer not your GP training programme (this mistake happens regularly!).<\/li>

    6. We run an eportfolio session early on in the teaching programme to help answer any questions you may have.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
