Educational Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Programme Directors are Dr Suzie Gill, Dr Nina Brown and Dr Ann Sanders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning sessions are held at the Terence Mortimer Education Centre, Horton General Hospital. ST1s have a twice monthly learning session on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 2-5pm. ST2s have a half day learning session on Tuesday afternoons from 2pm. ST3s have a half day learning set every Tuesday morning from 930am.\u00a0Click here to go to Calendar<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope to make these sessions relevant and fun. If you have suggestions regarding content we are always pleased to receive them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is an expectation that you will attend these sessions as part of your contractual obligation. If you are unable to attend whether due to being on nights\/annual leave\/ study leave\/ sickness do please e-mail the PDs\u00a0so we can update our attendance registers. If your attendance level is of concern it will be fed back to your educational and clinical supervisors as well as the Programme Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One to one meetings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately once a year the Programme Directors will meet with you informally at the Postgraduate Centre. This is to give us the chance to see how you are getting on, to review your ePortfolio and to find out if there is anything we can do to support your learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational and Clinical Supervisors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will be allocated an Educational Supervisor (ES) who is an experienced GP educator (also often called a trainer). During ST1 and ST2 your ES will be in regular contact to ensure that you are making good progress with your training. During ST3 you will be based in your ES\u2019s GP surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your ES will meet with you twice a year to do an Educational Supervisors Report (ESR) which is part of your Workplace Based Assessment (see below). This will involve going through your ePortfolio, reviewing your progress to date and helping you to define which areas of the curriculum you need to focus on. Your ES will be allocated following the practice matching event in August of ST1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In each post you will also have a Clinical Supervisor (CS) to help co-ordinate your training on a day to day basis. This is usually the Consultant you are working with (or a GP if you are in a primary care post). In ST3 your ES will also be your CS.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
