If it is not in place when you start each new job you will not be able to work and you could be suspended with no pay until the documents are produced. It is your responsibility to get this done, and not doing so will cast doubts on your organisational skills and professionalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important that you sign up to the update service (see below).  This is an online subscription that allows you to keep your enhanced certificates up-to-date rather than needing to regularly reapply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about DBS checks see:&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/disclosure-and-barring-service\">https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/disclosure-and-barring-service<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/secure.crbonline.gov.uk\/crsc\/apply?execution=e1s1\">https:\/\/secure.crbonline.gov.uk\/crsc\/apply?execution=e1s1<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">National Performers List<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to register for the National Performers List you need Enhanced Disclosure and Barring certificates along with confirmation of sign up to the online update service operated by the DBS.\u00a0 Signing up to the online update service must be completed within 19 days of the date of the certificate.\u00a0 CRB certificates are no longer valid and will not be accepted. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have had a recent certificate issued, but you did not sign up to the online update service, then you will be required to undertake a further DBS check, which you will need to fund, including the cost of the on line update service. Currently the costs for these services are \u00a344 for a DBS certificate and \u00a313.00 per annum for the online update service. If you are about to have a DBS check through a hospital trust, then we would suggest you consider signing up to the online update service at the same time, in order to meet the requirements of the Performers List regulations, without having to pay for a full new DBS check when you move to a general practice post.&nbsp; However, if your first post is in general practice you must contact your practice manager, who will request your DBS check, as your employer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are different types of Disclosure and Barring certificates (Standard and Enhanced). The only type acceptable under the Regulations is an&nbsp;<strong>Enhanced Disclosure<\/strong>&nbsp;which includes a check against the barred lists for people who are working in Regulated activity (listing those people barred from working with children or adults).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Please remember the online update service is an NHS England requirement and failure to comply will mean your application will not be progressed.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OUH posts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to starting an OXFORD UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST post, medical staffing will contact you about what DBS clearance is necessary and how to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Psychiatry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our psychiatry posts are with Oxford Health Foundation Trust.
