{"id":1913,"date":"2021-02-26T12:12:48","date_gmt":"2021-02-26T12:12:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gp-training.hee.nhs.uk\/norfolk-norwich\/?page_id=1913"},"modified":"2022-04-05T14:27:46","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T13:27:46","slug":"about-us","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gp-training.hee.nhs.uk\/norfolk-norwich\/about-us\/","title":{"rendered":"About Us"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Norwich General Practice Speciality Training Programme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A long established GP Speciality Training Scheme, the Norwich GPSTS is centred at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, but has General Practice at its heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is a large, purpose built, 21st Century Hospital adjacent to the University of East Anglia Campus. Sited towards the west of Norwich, it provides a full range of acute services in a modern setting, with a catchment population of 800,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are 37 General Practices that host GP Trainee placements. Each trainee will spend 18 of the 36 months training within General Practice. This offers each trainee a chance to sample at least 2 from the variety of available practices, which range from Singlehanded, to Large Group Practices, Inner-City to Rural, PMS &amp; GMS, Dispensing and Non-Dispensing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scheme operates a fortnightly day-release course which GP Trainees in practice and hospital placements attend.
