{"id":1902,"date":"2021-02-25T14:32:46","date_gmt":"2021-02-25T14:32:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gp-training.hee.nhs.uk\/norfolk-norwich\/?page_id=1902"},"modified":"2021-02-26T13:47:56","modified_gmt":"2021-02-26T13:47:56","slug":"study-leave","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gp-training.hee.nhs.uk\/norfolk-norwich\/trainees\/study-leave\/","title":{"rendered":"Study Leave"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Funding<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Step by step guide for Norwich based GP trainees applying for all Aspirational courses or courses where the funding applied for is greater than \u00a3600.&nbsp; (please ensure that you check the local process if you rotate to JPUH or QEH)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/heeoe.hee.nhs.uk\/gp_study_leave\">Study leave form from HEE<\/a> (if you are unable to access the form directly, download the form and then open)<\/li><li>Complete a PDP specific to the each course\/activity<\/li><li>Complete the form and send to Carol Lucas\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:carol.lucas@nnuh.nhs.uk\">carol.lucas@nnuh.nhs.uk<\/a><\/li><li>Study leave forms will be looked by the TPDs every 2 weeks<\/li><li>Approved\/not approved \u00a0forms will be returned to the trainee<\/li><li>After the course\/activity complete section 2 of the form and send supporting evidence (receipts, certificates) to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:studyleave.eoe@hee.nhs.uk\">studyleave.eoe@hee.nhs.uk<\/a><\/li><li>Complete a reflective log<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Please be advised:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Travel expenses from your host hospital will not be refunded for a course at that same hospital (i.e. if you are based in NNUH, Norwich Psych or a practice affiliated with Norwich and the course is at the NNUH)<\/li><li>Full or partial funding may be approved \u2013 details will be added to the form<\/li><li>The form will not be approved without a PDP<\/li><li>Study leave applications to be submitted 6 weeks before the course\/activity.&nbsp; Retrospective applications will not be approved<\/li><li>Trainees must have fully engaged with local and regional training programmes to be eligible to apply for any form of study leave funding.&nbsp; The expectation is attendance at a minimum of 70% of training events, including regional training days and local teaching sessions.<\/li><li>When a course is available locally funding will not be approved elsewhere.<\/li><li>Trainees are encouraged to use the most economical form of transport.<\/li><li>Overnight stays and subsistence will only be approved where absolutely necessary.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Study time from your practice or hospital department&nbsp;<\/strong>(in addition to above)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>GP Practice<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure you discuss with you ES and practice manager and have the time off approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Hospital based<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Study leave \u2013 Time &#8211;&nbsp; must be approved by your department.&nbsp; Please see the Trust intranet page for details on how to apply for study leave&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/intranet\/EducationCentre\/studyleave.htm\">http:\/\/intranet\/EducationCentre\/studyleave.htm<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 this is for time only, you cannot claim for funding from the Trust.&nbsp; For funded study leave on a working day please complete both forms and ensure that you send these to the correct departments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"nhsuk-card__description\">Funding Step by step guide for Norwich based GP trainees applying for all Aspirational courses or courses where the funding [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":0,"parent":2,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"class_list":["post-1902","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
