We have been a training practice since 2008 and enjoy welcoming registrars and making them part of our team for the period of time that they spend with us. We also teach Brighton medical students from all years.<\/p>

Our partnership is responsible for 2 surgeries, both based in villages within the beautiful countryside of the High Weald and covering the surrounding semi-rural areas.<\/p>

The Ashdown Forest Health Centre is a 10,000 patient semi-rural dispensing practice with 4 partners and 3 salaried Doctors.<\/p>

Our practice is situated in the village of Forest Row and we cover the outlying villages of Nutley, Chelwood Gate and Danehill along with the countryside of he Ashdown Forest. Here, as well as general practice, we are also able to provide dedicated minor surgery sessions as well as other enhanced services as mircosuction and pipelle biopsies.<\/p>

Woodhill Surgery is a much smaller 3000 patient surgery in the village of Mayfield which we took over in 2013. With 2 regular salaried Doctors and the partners each covering one day a week, the registrars usually attend for a half or one day a week.<\/p>

These two environments give a broad experience of life in semi-rural practice on different scales, both using SystemOne as a clinical computer system.<\/p><\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

Cuckfield Medical Practice is a split site practice with 5 partners and 2 salaried GPs looking after 10,000 patients. We have been a training practice for over 25 years and our staff and patients are well used to supporting registrars and we offer a wide range of expertise in the practice. We are committed to excellent quality family medicine while being actively involved in new initiatives to improve patient care.<\/p>

Dr Susan Ferrier, one of our Partners is shortly to complete her PGCert and will be become a Trainer.<\/p>

We have 3 GPs who are Clinical Supervisors and one more, Dr Louise Cotter who is applying at this moment to become a CS.<\/p>

We have also taken 4th year Medical Students for many years from Brighton who are looked after by one of the salaried GPs who has an interest in training. We have an outstanding nursing team lead by our Nurse Practitioner, with an Advanced Practice Nurse, 3 Practice Nurses and a Health Care Assistant and part time Phlebotomist. We encourage personal development within the team and some admin members have been trained to complete NHS Health checks, Phlebotomy and ECGs.<\/p>

We offer in house Dermatology and MSK expertise, Minor Surgery and joint injections and Registrars are encouraged to make full use of these opportunities. We offer very traditional family based care and work closely with the hospice to look after our Palliative care patients.<\/p>

We gained an \u201cOutstanding\u201d from CQC for care of older patients and \u201c Good\u201d in all other areas and get excellent feedback from the National Patient Survey and Friends and Family feedback so please look at our website for all we have to offer.<\/p>

We have 2 purpose built premises and Registrars have their own room at Cuckfield. The Vale premises are a PFI build and an independent Dental practice and a Pharmacy occupy part of the building while MSK clinics operate on the second floor. All staff rotate to both sites and we have a varied population with a standard demographic distribution. Our management team comprises of a Practice Manager, Partners and our Nurse Practitioner supported by a Reception Manager and a Referrals Manager. There is a good team spirit and we organise social events twice a year that the registrars always attend.<\/p>

We are a friendly and informal practice that love the opportunity to teach and you will be supported by every member of the team. You will be encouraged to contribute to meetings and occasionally chair them with support and we will help you organise audit projects to improve patient care.<\/p>

Holbrook Surgery was started in 1995 by Dr Heatley in a portacabin in a field on Tylden Way. Drs Woods and Sheikh subsequently joined him and the practice expanded rapidly. Dr Williams joined in 1997 and Dr Ziyada in 1998, both working part-time. During this period of rapid growth an extra two portacabins were added and despite many obstacles, progress was made on securing the site for the permanent building on Bartholomew Way. Finally in 1998 the new surgery building was opened.<\/p>

Dr Liu joined in February 1998 & Dr Heath in May 2001. As the surgery continued to take on more patients, Dr Singh a former GP registrar at Holbrook Surgery was employed as a salaried GP in February 2006. Dr Sheikh retired in April 2006. His patients were taken on by Drs Williams and Ziyada who both became full-time.<\/p>

Following Dr Heath’s retirement in August 2012, Dr Singh increased to full-time work and Dr Anderson another former registrar joined as a salaried GP. Designed by Procter Associates, the building is one of the first to house notes and administration upstairs to give confidentiality and a peaceful waiting room.<\/p>

We aim to provide patients with comprehensive primary care, both by accommodating all our community staff and also by providing a full range of clinics and services. We also try to be innovative and are constantly seeking to upgrade our skills and knowledge. Thus the doctors each specialise in a clinical area and the nurses now manage many conditions in their clinics that previously were the sole responsibility of doctors.<\/p><\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

Judges Close is a training practice located in the centre of East Grinstead. There are currently 3 GP Partners and 2 salaried GPs. It has been a training practice for many years, with three of the GPs being trainers which means we have, in addition, a number of qualified GPs from the Brighton Medical School working at the surgery on placements of up to a year. We also currently employ 2 practices nurses, a healthcare assistant and three part time phlebotomists<\/p>

We operate from a purpose built structure erected in the 1960s. The building is well-equipped and has been extended a number of times over the years and now provides 6 consulting rooms, 3 treatment rooms, library, counselling room and an on-site pharmacy.<\/p>

The practice runs many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offers a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, cryotherapy, childhood and travel vaccinations as well as well-person check-ups. The Surgery is a forward looking practice, striving to embrace new ideas and the changing NHS whilst continuing to provide a personal service in a calm relaxed atmosphere. Moatfield has been a training practice for many years. 2 training colleagues retired 3 years ago and since then Dr Williams, Dr Pasan and Dr Kane qualified together as trainers in January 2017. We have enjoyed supervising both Foundation doctors and GP trainees over the last 3 years. Moatfield surgery continues to teach 4th year BSMS medical students regularly. We also train and mentor nurses.<\/p>

Moatfield is a well organised practice and the whole the team is supportive of trainees. Our practice managers and reception manager are involved in making your placement successful. We have regular meetings (both formal and informal) to facilitate communication and good patient care as well as share learning and support each other.<\/p>

We don\u2019t want anyone to feel isolated or stuck in their room on their own!<\/p>

Mid Downs is a training practice of 6 GP Partners. We are also actively involved in teaching medical students from BSMS Medical School hosting 5th year and 4th year students at our practice and welcome trainees being involved in teaching, if they so wish. All of our doctors have a specialist interest e.g one partner is an ENT Gpwsi, another does minor ops and dermatoscopy, others do family planning, diabetes etc. We therefore try to refer to each other wherever possible.<\/p>

The practice consists of two sites, the main site is in the village of Newick, a semi-rural location very near Sheffield Park (a National Trust site) and the Bluebell Railway and about 10 miles east of Haywards Heath. The branch surgery is situated in South Chailey a few miles north of Lewes. The Practice population is around 9,200.<\/p>

Northlands Wood is a Training Practice of 3 GP Partners and one salaried GP. One is a dermatology GPwsi and another is a contraception trainer. Two teach 5th year medical students and welcome trainees being involved if they wish. The practice population is around 7,200 patients and expanding. We have a purpose built Practice only 5 minutes’ walk from the Princess Royal Hospital.<\/p>

We pride ourselves in providing excellent primary medical care in a relaxed, comfortable and welcoming environment that puts teamwork and regular communication top of its agenda. We have a wonderful team of staff whom we value enormously as do our patients. We have topped local patient satisfaction polls in recent years.<\/p>

All our staff have an ‘open door’ policy for trainees including daily conundrum sorting out at coffee break. We are happy to support and give in house experience in IUS\/Nexplanon and look at CCG\/management as I am also CCG lead and an appraiser.<\/p>

Past trainees have immediately found jobs of their choice after completion and have fed back that their training here really gave them the skills to thrive independently in the primary world.<\/p>

The Brow is a friendly, fun practice with a reputation for good nights out!<\/p>

But seriously… It is a longstanding training practice committed to education and all doctors and staff are always happy to help and support. We have always had excellent feedback from registrars. There is a wide range of expertise in the practice including Dermatology (GPwSI), Pain Management (GpwSI), Fertility (GPwSI), Family Planning including coils and implants, Diabetes, Elderly Care and Minor Ops. One of the other partners, Dr Karen Eastman is a Clinical Director for the Mid Sussex and Horsham Clinical Commissioning Group. The team includes a practice pharmacist and care coordinators, and we are fortunate to have Health visitors, District nurses and a CPN based in the building too. There is opportunity for lots of experience in General Practice and our innovative appointment system allows lots of practice in telephone triage also. Burgess Hill is full of ‘normal’ people, and is 20 minutes from Brighton (and the beach) by car, 45 minutes to London by train.<\/p>

Welcome to The Village Surgery. Southwater’s only NHS doctors’ surgery. We aim to provide a high standard of general practice, keeping up to date with modern technology yet preserving the traditional values of family medicine.<\/p>
