I have worked for the NHS for over 27 years at the Medical Education Centre doing various job roles and started working on the GP Scheme as the administrator about 10 years ago, which I really enjoy as you get to know the trainees over the 3 years.
I started working for the NHS in 1994 working in Medical Records, since then I worked in the Maxillo-Facial department for a year before moving to the Emergency Department in 1999, which was a really interesting post including a lot of work on their teaching programmes and rotas. I had a 6 year break to working for an Independent Building Control company, returning to the NHS in March 2020 to work in the Medical Education Centre supporting the GP Scheme, which has been both challenging and rewarding so far (particularly with the Covid restrictions we have needed to work around).

Information about Helen:
I have been a GP for just over 20 years and am a Partner at The Ridings Medical Group in Brough. I have a special interest in elderly medicine and enjoy the challenge of balancing the multiple needs this group have. I also work as a GP Appraiser and am constantly humbled and impressed by the dedication of my GP colleagues working in all sorts of challenging circumstances.
I have 3 children and a dog and enjoy walking , running and cycling in the beautiful Wolds. My perfect day is getting out walking or cycling with some friends or family and finishing off at a cafe for some well deserved cake! In any time left I am enjoying trying to keep on top of my garden and hoping to venture into growing more fruit and vegetables in the future.
