{"id":2129,"date":"2021-06-22T14:11:48","date_gmt":"2021-06-22T13:11:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gp-training.hee.nhs.uk\/guildford\/?page_id=2129"},"modified":"2025-07-14T13:06:27","modified_gmt":"2025-07-14T12:06:27","slug":"ltft","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gp-training.hee.nhs.uk\/guildford\/trainees\/ltft\/","title":{"rendered":"Less Than Full Time Training"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We have both a Trainee Representative in the scheme and a Hospital Champion in the Trust for LTFT training, both of whom are happy to be contacted with any questions or problems you may be have regarding LTFT training.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Thinking about applying for LTFT training?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications may be considered for a variety of reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Parental care&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trainees with a disability or ill health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trainees with caring responsibilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Welfare and wellbeing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unique opportunities\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Religious commitment\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-medical development\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flexibility for training and career development\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Speak with your Educational Supervisor and Training Programme Director early. Applications for LTFT can be made any time of year, however, <strong>12 weeks notice is required<\/strong> except in exceptional circumstances (e.g. unforeseeable ill health)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further information is available at the <a href=\"https:\/\/kss.hee.nhs.uk\/primary-care\/kss-gp-school\/ltft\/\">KSS website by clicking here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Ready to apply for LTFT training?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to submitting an application, you must inform the Trust as your employer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can do this by e-mailing: rsc-tr.medicalresourcing@nhs.net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When ready to submit, the application portal can be <a href=\"https:\/\/kss.hee.nhs.uk\/primary-care\/kss-gp-school\/ltft\/application\/\">accessed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Trust&#8217;s LTFT Champion is available to support doctors&nbsp;returning to a training post after a break of 3 months or more for any reason.
