We recognise that Doctors in Training (DiTs) who have qualified in medicine overseas may have different needs to those who qualified in the UK; not least finding out how the UK NHS works and settling into a new area. The GMC have some helpful information which you may have already seen on their website here<\/a>. They also reported on the channel 4 documentary: Becoming a doctor in the UK: the view from an international medical graduate.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trainers always welcome discussion of DiT\u2019s concerns and queries and we would therefore encourage you to talk to your Educational Supervisor if you are uncertain about anything or would like support. Likewise, if you are experiencing any difficulty in a hospital post, please contact your Clinical Supervisor as soon as possible. Or if you feel unable or unwilling to speak to your Clinical Supervisor, contact your lead Training Programme Director (TPD), as any specific learning needs must be identified early on in your placement.   Please contact Dr Tom Agombar<\/a> or Dr Michael Kilshaw<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dedicated NHSE International Medical Graduate webpages<\/a> have been designed by international medical graduates (IMGs) to help support new IMGs working or preparing to work in our region and contain lots of additional resources<\/p>\n\n\n\n
