Guidance is available at the RCGP website:<br><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/gp-training-and-exams\/mrcgp-workplace-based-assessment-wpba.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/gp-training-and-exams\/mrcgp-workplace-based-assessment-wpba.aspx<\/a><\/li><li>ST3s should complete at least 6 COTs and 6 CBDs in each 6 months<\/li><li>ST3s need to have done a PSQ and 2 separate MSFs<br><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/training-exams\/mrcgp-workplace-based-assessment-wpba\/msf-for-workplace-based-assessment.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Multi-Source Feedback (MSF) &#8211; RCGP<\/a><\/li><li>The minimum requirement for Less than Full Time trainees is pro-rate to full timers<\/li><li>The Severn Deanery has specific recommendations on Learning Log &#8211; please take time to read through these. They can be found on the deanery website:&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.primarycare.severndeanery.nhs.uk\/training\/gp-curriculum-and-mrcgp\/wpba\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.primarycare.severndeanery.nhs.uk\/training\/gp-curriculum-and-mrcgp\/wpba\/<\/a><\/li><li>At the end of every year, there will be an ARCP (Annual Review of Competence Progression) in June or July (timings may slightly different for less than full time trainees or those who have had prolonged leave). Please make sure that your e-portfolio is complete and up to date before this. The panel scruitinises your e-portfolio to make sure that trainees have the required competencies and skills and the necessary evidence to support this. You will need to be successful at your ARCP in order to be able to apply for your CCT. Details of ARCP can be found at:<br><a href=\"http:\/\/www.primarycare.severndeanery.nhs.uk\/training\/gp-curriculum-and-mrcgp\/annual-review-of-competence-progression-arcp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.primarycare.severndeanery.nhs.uk\/training\/gp-curriculum-and-mrcgp\/annual-review-of-competence-progression-arcp\/<\/a><\/li><li>Severn Deanery has provided some&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.primarycare.severndeanery.nhs.uk\/training\/gp-curriculum-and-mrcgp\/wpba\/how-to-be-prepared-for-an-arcp-panel\/esr-and-arcp-checklist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">useful guidance<\/a>&nbsp;on how to prepare for your ARCPs<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-panel1 nhsuk-panel is-style-panel-with-label\"><h3>Level 3 Child Safeguarding Training<\/h3><div class=\"paneltext\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Safeguarding Training for GPST in practice.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Trainees should be appropriately inducted at the practice; this should include familiarisation with practice safeguarding policy &amp; procedures. Trainees should also complete child protection training as soon as possible when starting posts involving contact with children. For more information see:&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.primarycare.severndeanery.nhs.uk\/training\/gp-curriculum-and-mrcgp\/wpba\/child-safeguarding-training-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Severn Postgraduate Medical Education &#8211; Child Safeguarding Training Requirements<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the ST3 year, they should write up at least two learning log entries on safeguarding cases, of which at least one should relate to a child case that the trainee has been personally involved with. They should also include entries for any multi-disciplinary\/multi-agency meetings they attend, eg. safeguarding meetings within the practice or any child protection case review meetings, as well as any relevant discussions on the half day release, during small group work, &amp; in tutorials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*To demonstrate that they have achieved Level 3 child safeguarding competence by the final ARCP panel, trainees must have completed a level 3 child protection course, either *on-line or face to face and have uploaded an appropriate certificate.<br>E-learning modules:&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kwango.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kwango &#8211; Health, Social Care and Education E-Learning<\/a>,<br><a href=\"mailto:annette.blackstock@nhs.net\">Annette Blackstock<\/a>&nbsp;can provide a user name &amp; password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some confusion has arisen as the delivery of face to face level 3 training courses varies between areas. Region-specific safeguarding courses are not considered an essential way of demonstrating level 3 competencies and so are not normally claimable from study leave budget). Please refer to the Intercollegiate guidance:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcpch.ac.uk\/resources\/safeguarding-children-young-people-roles-competencies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Safeguarding children and young people: roles and competences for health care staff.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newly Qualified GPs must, within a year of being on the performers list, ensure that they meet the local requirements for level 3 training, and update this every 3 years.
