Dr Julian Allfrey<\/h3>

I qualified from Oxford University in 2009. I completed my Foundation training in South London and then joined CRESH achieving my CCT in 2016. It is a real privilege to be involved in the CRESH training Programme having previously been a trainee here. I am particularly interested in reflective practice and the benefits this offers us as clinicians. To this end I completed a year-long foundation course at the Society of Analytical Psychology in 2017. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a keen sportsman being capped at U18 England rugby and achieving my Rugby Blue at Oxford in 2009. Living in Reigate I enjoy running, playing guitar and spending time with my family.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr Sophie Rowlands<\/h3>

I qualified in 2012, having undertaken medical school at the University of Cambridge and University College London. After completing Foundation training locally, I was a CRESH trainee from 2014-2017. I currently work as a GP in Crawley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to becoming a Programme Director, I have held education roles with the RCGP and MSF. Alongside general practice, I am also passionate about global health, medical education, quality improvement and planetary health. I have worked as a medical educator on the Thai-Myanmar border, and remotely with Kings Health Partnership in Somaliland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a lifelong learner, and have recently taken up playing the piano. In my spare time I also enjoy ballet, and a range of sports including running and paddleboarding, as well as spending time with my husband and son. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr Pavan Uppal <\/h3>

Having qualified as a CRESH trainee myself, I have worked across Surrey and Sussex as a GP. I am currently also the GP tutor for Mid Sussex, the KSS GP School champion for supported return to training (SRTT), and involved in the extra GP School work surrounding the curriculum and applied knowledge test (AKT). Locally, I am the clinical lead for the Domestic Abuse IRIS project in East Surrey and work as a coach-mentor across the patch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have clinical interests in Dementia, mental health and safeguarding. As a CRESH training programme director, I am committed to ensuring that each trainee fulfils their potential and feels supported during their time with us, and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Anita Raina <\/h3>

I am a GP partner in Horley, an Appraiser for NHS England and academic mentor for the GP educator pathway. I have been a Programme director since February 2018. It seems like coming home to me as I trained in the CRESH VTS scheme. Before joining this post as a PD, I was a clinical lead at the East Surrey CCG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


General Practice provides me the clinical diversity and continuity of care which I enjoy. My special interests are Diabetes, Minor Surgery with joint injections and Family planning. I am trained as a Family planning trainer. I have been involved in several community-based projects like making East Surrey a dementia Friendly community, establishing a diabetes forum for the local clinicians and Altogether better with Practice Champions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Education is at the core of all my activities. I am a constant learner as I continue to learn from my peers and learners. It was a privilege to be awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
