The GP Speciality Training Admin Team has an extensive amount of NHS experience

Vicki Hall
Postgraduate & GP Programme Manager

Her role is strategic, ensuring the delivery of appropriate training opportunities for doctors to achieve their CCT and continue their medical career in general practice. To achieve this Vicki works closely with three local GPs who are Training Programme Directors, and have an excellent administrative support team, commonly known as The “A” Team for obvious reasons!

Kathryn Cross
GP Training Administrator

Kathryn has worked with the Derby GP Training Programme for many years, previously working within the Medical Library and the Postgraduate Office.

Her responsibilities include administering the Half Day Release Programmes for all three year groups and arranging the Trainers Workshops and Annual Conferences.

Sarah Hodgkinson
GP Training Administrator

Sarah has a host of NHS experience previously working within Surgical Medical Staffing, so she has a lot of valuable experience with rotations and rotas.

In the team, Sarah leads on rotation planning for all trainees including those on less than full time working contracts, administering the eportfolio and ARCP reviews and panels, and arranging GP refresher courses.

Dr Stuart Holloway
Programme Director

Dr Stuart Holloway MA Cantab, MMEd Dund, MB BChir, DRCOG, DFFP, FRCGP, FAcadMEd

Stuart Holloway graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1993 and went on to train in medicine at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, Ipswich Hospital and the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary before entering GP Training in 1995, graduating with Distinction in 1998 and joining the Partnership at Macklin Street Surgery the same year. He holds the degree of Master of Medical Education from the University of Dundee.

Stuart became Managing Partner at Macklin Street Surgery in 2010 and Senior Partner in 2013. He was employed as a GP Teaching Fellow to the University of Nottingham Graduate Entry Medical School at Derby from its inception in 2003 until 2009 where he assisted with the development and delivery of the clinical skills curriculum. He has worked as an examiner for the University of Nottingham, as an Assessor and Moderator for the East Midlands Selection Centre for GP Training and as a GP appraiser.

In addition to his clinical role, Stuart is a GP trainer and undergraduate tutor, Clinical Director for Education for Health Education Derbyshire Training Hub, and Associate Postgraduate Dean for Health Education England, East Midlands. He has been a Programme Director for the Derby GP Specialty Training Programme for over 12 years. He strives to promote an ethos of high quality medical care combined with the provision of multi-professional medical education. His interests include international medical graduate education, the application of curiosity to learning, and the juxtaposition of medicine with veterinary medicine.

In his spare time Stuart plays flute in a local chamber ensemble; he enjoys singing and gardening and spending time with his wife, daughter, son, extended family and two Smooth Collies.

Dr Sarah Milner
Programme Director

Dr Sarah Milner trained at Nottingham Medical School and subsequently the Chesterfield GP Vocational Training Scheme.

Having been a GP partner at the Ripley Medical Centre for 15 years, she became a salaried GP for Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust when the practice merged with DCHS in 2016.

Dr Milner has been involved with medical education in the practice since 2005 for medical students, GP trainees and a variety of allied health professionals, and was pleased to join the team of Programme Directors for the Derby GP Training Scheme in 2017.

As an early trend setter of having children during training, she has juggled family life and work for many years, and therefore has a bit of a soft spot for flexible trainees.
