As part of the Severn Deanery, there are a number of additional opportunities that trainees can apply for. An overview of these is listed below. For further information see the Severn Deanery<\/a> website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scholarships<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>
\n

There are several internal scholarships <\/a>that allow GP trainees to develop additional skills in a number of areas including Leadership, Education, Public Health, and Research. These posts are applied for within the ST2 year and extend the ST3 year for one or 3 months. As a scholar you will have a mentor to guide and upport you for any project you undertake. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Global Health Fellowships<\/a><\/h3>
\n

There are a number of 12 month Global Health Fellowships available through Africa Health Placements<\/a> between ST2 and ST3 year. Applications are made alongside the application for the GP Specialty Training Programme. Find more information here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Academic GP Training<\/a><\/h3>
\n

Applicants for GP specialty training who would like to pursue an academic career can apply for a 4 year Academic Clinical Fellowship. <\/a>Years 3 and 4 of this scheme will provide the Academic GP Registrar with 2 years of academic general practice with time divided equally between academic work in the Centre for Academic Primary Care, University of Bristol and training as a GP registrar.
