It is chaired and convened by Dr Reuban Pratheepan <a href=\"mailto:r.pratheepan@nhs.net\">r.pratheepan@nhs.net<\/a>. Meetings are currently held over MS Teams and with regular in-person events though the year.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-panel1 nhsuk-panel is-style-panel-with-label\"><h3>Structured Teaching Programmes (STPs)<\/h3><div class=\"paneltext\">\n<p>The STPs supplement the learning that takes place whilst in a clinical placement. We align the programmes to the RCGP Areas of Capacity that define a well-rounded GP. Dr Haroon Pardes from BARDOC then followed up with a discussion highlighting the issue of trainee DNAs at BARDOC OOH sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 25th 2024 (THURSDAY)<\/strong>: Paul Allerston &#8211; solicitor and Dr Waugh &#8211; Bolton Chief medical examiner delivered a joint afternoon talk around supporting GP trainees with coroners&#8217; inquests as well as the new medical examiner role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>February 27th 2024 (TUESDAY)<\/strong>: Dr Rebecca Wagstaff- Head of school for Public health spoke to primary and secondary care CSs about the <a href=\"https:\/\/nhs-my.sharepoint.com\/:p:\/g\/personal\/r_pratheepan_nhs_net\/EeMUw-jNdA1Cn7z3xG0ybKgBhMNz0DPSfo90vy5OZwk8HQ?e=SxAJXG\">Enhance programme<\/a> for FY doctors, with the aim of exposing them to generalist skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>February 1st 2024 (THURSDAY)<\/strong>: A special event was held at the Octagon theatre in Bolton. Chris Lewis from the Bolton GP Training Hub ran a coaching and mentoring masterclass in the morning. Dr Manu Jeyam delivered a session on <a href=\"https:\/\/nhs-my.sharepoint.com\/:p:\/r\/personal\/r_pratheepan_nhs_net\/Documents\/Resilience%20ppt.pptx?d=w324d5a316fe64844a9202cb8c8301c59&amp;csf=1&amp;web=1&amp;e=nbiizd\">Developing Resilience<\/a> followed by a group discussion around issues experienced as trainers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>January 19th 2024 (FRIDAY)<\/strong>: Lucie Griffiths- Differential Attainment champion talked about her current role supporting GP trainees that included a case study and group discussion around options to support trainees in difficulty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 16th 2023 (THURSDAY)<\/strong>: Trainers&#8217; day held at The University of Bolton, School of Medicine. Professor Iqbal Singh CBE and Dr Helen Wall discussed plans to establish the undergraduate medical school.
