{"id":2001,"date":"2021-01-22T13:44:16","date_gmt":"2021-01-22T13:44:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gp-training.hee.nhs.uk\/blackpool\/?page_id=2001"},"modified":"2021-01-22T13:49:03","modified_gmt":"2021-01-22T13:49:03","slug":"preparation-for-professional-practice","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gp-training.hee.nhs.uk\/blackpool\/doctors-in-training\/foundation-trainees\/induction\/preparation-for-professional-practice\/","title":{"rendered":"Preparation for Professional Practice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Preparation for Professional Practice period will include a mixture of the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-panel1 nhsuk-panel is-style-panel-with-label\"><h3><strong>Information sessions, including:<\/strong><\/h3><div class=\"paneltext\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>ID Badges issued<\/li><li>Smart card appointments<\/li><li>Hospital Tour<\/li><li>Plus more\u2026<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<a class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-nhsbutton alignright nhsuk-button\"><\/a>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-panel1 nhsuk-panel is-style-panel-with-label\"><h3><strong>Team introductions, including:<\/strong><\/h3><div class=\"paneltext\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>foundation Programme Team<\/li><li>Library team<\/li><li>Simulation and Skills Centre team<\/li><li>Acute Response Team<\/li><li>Occupational Health<\/li><li>Health Informatics<\/li><li>Pharmacy Team<\/li><li>Clinical Pathways<\/li><li>Point of Care Team<\/li><li>Service Improvement (Audit and QI)<\/li><li>IT FAQs<\/li><li>Plus more\u2026<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<a class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-nhsbutton alignright nhsuk-button\"><\/a>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-panel1 nhsuk-panel is-style-panel-with-label\"><h3><strong>Formal training, including:<\/strong><\/h3><div class=\"paneltext\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Forward to Basics<\/li><li>Blood Cultures<\/li><li>Additional Clinical Skills (if deemed necessary per trainee)<\/li><li>Ask To See the Patient (presented by current FY1 trainees)<\/li><li>Royal College of Physician\u2019s Evening Medical Update (live webinar)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<a class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-nhsbutton alignright nhsuk-button\"><\/a>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-panel1 nhsuk-panel is-style-panel-with-label\"><h3><strong>Shadowing time, including:<\/strong><\/h3><div class=\"paneltext\">\n<p>This shadowing is designed to put you ahead when starting work on your first official day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scheduled for the day before you start in the department you will accompany your FY1 buddies whilst they work, meet the teams you will work with and get to grips with a standard working day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are also 2 voluntary shadowing opportunities on Monday 27th July and Tuesday 28th July if you wish to have more experience.
