However, you can only take it as Study leave as dictated below&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-reveal1 nhsuk-details\"><summary class=\"nhsuk-details__summary\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"details-content-\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><span class=\"nhsuk-details__summary-text\">Exam leave for&nbsp;<em>the day<\/em>&nbsp;of the MRCGP<\/span><\/summary><div class=\"nhsuk-details__text\" id=\"details-content-\" aria-hidden=\"false\"><p>&#8211;  For the first attempt, leave is granted&nbsp;<em>with<\/em>&nbsp;pay and expenses. <\/p><p>&#8211;  For subsequent attempts, leave is granted&nbsp;<em>without<\/em>&nbsp;pay and expenses. <\/p><\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-reveal1 nhsuk-details\"><summary class=\"nhsuk-details__summary\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"details-content-\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><span class=\"nhsuk-details__summary-text\">Exam leave for the day of a diploma (such as DRCOG, DFSRH, DCH, DGM)<\/span><\/summary><div class=\"nhsuk-details__text\" id=\"details-content-\" aria-hidden=\"false\"><p>&#8211; Provided educational approval is given, leave will be granted&nbsp;<em>without<\/em>&nbsp;funding. <\/p><\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-reveal1 nhsuk-details\"><summary class=\"nhsuk-details__summary\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"details-content-\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><span class=\"nhsuk-details__summary-text\">Exam preparation leave <\/span><\/summary><div class=\"nhsuk-details__text\" id=\"details-content-\" aria-hidden=\"false\"><p>&#8211; You are entitled to 5 days per year of personal study leave to prepare for an exam. This should come out of your study leave allowance. <\/p><\/div><\/details>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nhsblocks-panel1 nhsuk-panel is-style-panel-with-label\"><h3>Please keep a log<\/h3><div class=\"paneltext\">\n<p>In addition to Annual and Study leave, you are allowed time off from the training programme for any of the types of leave mentioned below, in accordance with the contractual arrangements with your employer. &nbsp;However, we would like to reiterate the fact that the total, aggregated allowance for the types of leave below must not exceed&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>one week in any 6 month post or <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>two weeks in a 12 month training period or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>six weeks over a 3-year training period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(Please note that one year would be a calendar year beginning from programme start date).<\/em><br><br>Please keep a log of all your leave throughout your 3 year training programme (sickness, parental, maternity and anything else). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bradfordvts.co.uk\/edsupervision\/\">\u2018The ES Workbook\u2019<\/a> will help keep a tally of these for you.<br><br>Remember, informing the different stakeholders who need to know is the trainee\u2019s responsibility. Failing to do this early on will mean that any gaps that need making up in your training programme will be picked up too late to do anything about and only you lose out.
